Message From The Family

MIDDLETON- Mrs. Marion Grace (Thomas) Salisbury, 88, of Middleton, beloved wife of the late Herbert Salisbury, passed away Monday, January 13, 2020 at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston.

Born in Winthrop, she was the daughter of the late Colin and Marion (Cooper) Thomas. She was raised and educated in Winthrop and was a graduate of Winthrop High School. Marion completed a modeling course and began nursing studies until marriage and family became her life's focus.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother and foster mother, Marion devoted herself to her family. She was instrumental in many children's lives, opening her home and sharing what she had with those in need. "Nana" was especially close to her grandson, Stephen Jr., with whom she made many memories over the years. Her love and generosity were immeasurable.

Marion supported her husband in his Architecture business, managing the office with an attention to detail and copious note taking. An aspiring author, she and Herb drafted a children's picture book and a how-to manual on starting a greenhouse. She was infamous for writing her thoughts and questions on scraps of paper of all sizes. Marion was an avid sewer and knitter and enjoyed crossword puzzles, Scrabble, the beach, and late-night dinners with Herb in the camper. She will be fondly remembered for her compassion, love and devotion to her family.

Surviving Marion are her son, Stephen Salisbury and his wife Lisa of Middleton, her daughter, Pamela Salisbury of Coronado, CA, her grandchildren, Grace Salisbury, Annie Salisbury, Stephen Salisbury Jr., all of Middleton, Michael Dressler of Concord, Michael Salisbury of Seabrook, NH, and Rachel Badjie of Lynn and several great-grandchildren, including Cole, Tristan & Kirsten Dressler and Nathan Sinclair. She was pre-deceased by her husband of over 58 years, Herbert F. Salisbury, and a son, Michael Salisbury.
